Why you should vote for me in the Oprah - Your OWN Show contest!

In case you haven't heard Kohl's is sponsoring a contest with Oprah and Mark Burnett to find the next great talk show host to have their very own show on the new OWN network!

Of course, I had to apply and you can see my video and hopefully VOTE for me HERE.

Now let me give you some examples of my interviewing experience:

Yanni Voices Backstage Interview and Dance Moves - oh yes I did!

Laila Ali - Girlfriend gives a shout-out to all the moms

Chris Mann, recording artist and super funny guy (see his blog for more giggles) Note - this was my very first interview and I've learned a LOT since stop talking and let the interviewee finish sentences.

Jared Fogle (Subway)

So, did I earn your vote?

Review: The Real Food Project via Hellmann's and Bobby Flay

Do you find it difficult to get your family to eat real, homemade, good-for-you food?

For many families mealtime is a break in a very busy day filled with work, school, and activities. Processed foods are readily available and affordable. But real food really is no more expensive or difficult to make!

This is where The Real Food Project comes in.

Bobby Flay has teamed up with Hellmann's to offer a variety of recipes that make it easier for families to create real food they will love. You can find the recipes and watch the videos, and join in the discussion on Facebook.

How about this recipe for roasted mushrooms and shaved celery with creamy lemon vinaigrette?

Or this one for catfish and black-eyed pea salsa?

As someone who has always loved Hellmann's I can't wait to try some of the recipes. Which ones will you try?

Disclosure: I was entered for a chance to win a Hellmann's® prize package in exchange for this post.  No monetary exchange took place.

Checking out Doteasy domains and web hosting (for my techy friends)

Lately I have been trying to convince just about everyone they need to start blogging.

There was the DC United soccer player I met on our flight to Disney.

My friend who is an LA girl living in Northern, VA and soon moving to Alabama where the local baseball team is called the Biscuits (I know - she totally has to document that, right?).

And there is my sister-in-law who reads 1000 books in a month and writes beautifully.

The only thing I don't usually offer is a way to get started so here's one option to consider.

One option for domain names and web hosting

There is a site called doteasy where you can get your domain registration any .COM/.NET/.ORG domain for only $7.95 (coupon code: 1003BPM) and can get one year free web hosting service that features 1GB transer and 100mb storage. Plus, you can store up to 10 emails and host multiple domain names.

I noticed the hosting plan has a lot of free hands-on web tools like a site designer, forum application, and blog application (three-snaps in z formation). Please see their Easy Box section for more on the tools.

Plus, for fun, I often come up with domain names and see if they are already taken. If not, I buy them for a year. I think I own like 10. I'm starting to collect them like shoes. But you just never know! Click here to sign up free web hosting today if interested.

Review: Rainbow Bright is back...and I knew my rainbow sticker collection would be cool again

Children of the 70s/80s....

Raise your hand if you had a sticker collection!

Now raise your hand if you had an entire book devoted to rainbow stickers!

Rainbows were way cool when I was a kid and I remember at one point I had a rainbow comforter for my bed with rainbow sheets and yellow walls. The really cool girls also had clouds on their ceilings. This is when Rainbow Bright found her first fans.

Rainbow Bright

Fast forward to today and Rainbow Bright is back

She has an updated wardrobe, a fancy new website, and some cool multimedia games that we got to review!

The Rainbow Bright CD is packed with all kinds of games like memory (find the matching pair), and skill games where you have to think quickly and move the curser even faster! What I liked too is that there are several levels to each game so the Twofer were not bored as they, um, watched me play. I admit - I got a little hooked.

Meet the New Rainbow Bright

You can meet RB (we're BFFs now) and some of her friends plus enjoy games at her new website. Be sure to  check out the new dolls available at Target and soon Toys R Us. For our performers, here's the link to the new Rainbow Bright song....karaoke anyone?

Now where did I put those rainbow legwarmers I used to wear to jazz class...
