Disney Tangled Review and Another Fun Giveaway (Update 12/14)

UPDATE: Winner is Lindsay / @middymorsel Congratulations!!

In Disney's new movie 'Tangled' Rapunzel's hair isn't the only thing that's messy.

Last weekend the Twofer and I were able to see a preview of the new Disney movie, 'Tangled' in 3D. We all know the story of Rapunzel and her being trapped in a tower with really, really, really long hair.

What I didn't know (and maybe this is the Disney effect) was the co-depent relationship she had with her mother - or really the woman she thinks is her mother but is really her captor. You see Rapunzel was stolen at birth by an old witch who wanted to remain young forever. Whenever the witch comes in contact with Rapunzel's hair, she gets a boost from a youth serum. Thus, Rapunzel is NEVER allowed outside of the tower for it's "Too Dangerous".

It take Rapunzel 18 long years to rebel and sneak outside when an outlaw, Flynn Rider, shows up at the tower and her 'mother' leaves on a 3-day trip.

Rapunzel makes us laugh with all of her firsts

From the very first time she smacks Flynn Rider with a frying pan to the first time her toes touch the grass, we giggle and smile as Rapunzel takes in the world around her. Flynn tried to get her to chance her mind about their 'deal' but Rapunzel, we learn has found her voice and is now very determined, smart and brave.

Disney 'Tangled' Giveaway

Every mother of a little girl can relate to the title of Disney's newest movie, 'Tangled'

(UPDATE: The winner of the t-shirts and silly bandz is.. Lori! Congrats!)

Whatever you call it....

Bed Head

Bird's Nest

Hair Game

or 'Tangled', we've all had our fair share of hair nightmares.

So I love the fact that Disney picked up on that and when remaking the classic tale of Rapunzel, opted for a very modern title. Disney knows the people getting those little girls to see the movie are, infact, the ones also brushing out the tangles.

'Tangled' hits theaters Wednesday, November 24th in 3D!

I recently reviewed Rapunzel's 'Tangled' diary (such a cute idea) and so our family of girls is already very excited to see this movie. This will be a perfect Thanksgiving break treat! Here's a brief synopsis of the movie 'Tangled':

When the kingdom’s most wanted—and most charming—bandit Flynn Rider (voice of Zachary Levi) is taken hostage by Rapunzel (voice of Mandy Moore), a feisty teen with 70 feet of golden hair who’s looking for her ticket out of the tower where she’s been locked away for years, the unlikely duo sets off on a hilarious, hair-raising escapade filled with adventure, heart, humor and hair—lots of hair.

Enjoy Disney's newest "Tangled" star Rapunzel through her Journal

Any girl who does not already keep a journal will most likely start journaling after reading this book and if you aren't already excited for the new Disney film, "Tangled", then you will be.

Tangled: Rapunzel's Journal: Letting Down My Hair

As we already know, Rapunzel has been locked away in a tower with her mother all her life. And, she's really overdue for a haircut. In her journal we can see how she has spent her days making friends wtih a chameleon, naming the trees she looks out onto, and various chores and hobbies. We also get to read first-hand what she did when she finally leaves the tower for the first time!

Rapunzel is a teenager and she has dreams that are very different from the dreams her mother has for her. What girl can't relate to that? What are her dreams and just how does she plan to make them come true? Read the journal and see!

Then, let's go see the movie!
