If I could participate in a cookie exchange, I'd use Betty Crocker and Gladware

I'm not one for a cookie exchange.

It's not really my choice. I'd love to participate in one if I could.

But I can't.

Because I eat all the cookies before there is time to share!

Safeway and Gladware pack a mean cookie

If I DID have any cookies make it past the cooling rack I would definitely pack them in Gladware. We use Gladware for everything from school lunches to Thanksgiving leftovers. It seals food nicely and the containers stack beautifully for easy storage in my cabinet drawer.

My local Safeway has a huge selection of Gladware and, lucky me, Betty Crocker cookie kits! These cookie pouches are the easiest way to re-make cookies, when you've eaten all the ones you had set aside for the exchange. Just add egg and maybe some flour, mix it up and you're done!

Buy Gladware at Safeway and Get Free Cookies

Now for a limited time (hurry because I think limited means 12/14/10!) if you buy two participating Gladware products at Safeway ( or Dominick´s, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Vons, and Genuardi´s) you'll get a FREE Betty Crocker Cookie Pouch!

You can read more about this offer and find delicious recpies and more at

Happy baking! Be sure to save some for me!

Disclosure: I received a set of Gladware (which I use), a Betty Crocker cookie pouch (seriously the easiest way to make cookies) and a Safeway gift card as a member of My Blog Spark for the purposes of this review. All opinions are my own and this post was neither reviewed nor approved prior to being published.

Contest: 100K Miles on my Van means I'm heading to Giant for Cereal

Yes, my minivan has over 100,000 miles on it. I've never owned a car this long and I've never had a car with over 100,000 miles on it.

I want a new car.

I want a hybrid.

So what am I going to do about it?

I'm heading to Giant food THIS WEEK (through April 29th) to buy 5 General Mills items and bring a reusable shopping bag!

Giant Food has partnered with General Mills to keep us in the spirit of green to celebrate Earth Day all month long. All you have to do is purchase 5 participating General Mills items with your Giant Bonus Card and bring a reusable shopping bag for your chance to win a 2010 eco-friendly Hybrid car.

You can also head to your local Giant (or Stop & Shop) store to fill out a sweepstakes form but I think buying the cereal is yummier.

Here are more details:

From April 16-29, buy 5 participating General Mills items with your Giant card, use a re-useable shopping bag and you’ll be automatically entered to win. There are two different sets of participating General Mills items for each week of the promotion (participating brands listed below). No purchase is necessary. You can enter without making a purchase by completing an official entry form at your local Giant store. The more you buy the better your chances are to win! Limit one entry per visit. Open to residents of MA, RI, CT, NH, NJ, NY, MD, DE, VA or DC and individuals at least 18 years old. For details about the sweepstakes, see in-store for complete rules.

Here's a short list of participating General Mills items:

Cascadian Farms Ceral

Cascadin Farms Frozen Vegetables

Progresso Light, Reduced Sodium and High Fiber Soups

Betty Crocker Boxed Muffins

Cinnamon Toast Crunch

Honey Nut Cheerios

Lucky Charms

Yo-Plus, Yoplait Fiber One or Yoplait Delights multi pak

Pillsbury Grand Biscuits

Nature Valley Crunchy, Sweet & Salty, Trail Mix and Yogurt Bars

Green Giant Boxed Vegegable or Prepared Vegetables

Green Giant Simply Steam Seasoned Vegetables or Rices

and tons more.

This contest is easy for me because I love General Mills products and I have a whole collection of reusable bags that I keep in my car.  So, I'm buying cereal to hopefully win a car - but I'd love to know what you've done to try and win a car!

Disclosure: I received a $20 gift card to Giant through General Mills and MyBlogSpark at no cost. All opinions expressed her are my own and were not reviewed nor approved prior to publishing.

The Pillsbury Million Dollar Bake-Off

Here's something you didn't know about me...I. Love. To. Bake.

Oh sure, I know you've never seen a post even slightly resembling domestic from me.
I fully admit that I'm blog friends with people like The Happy Housewife, in a way that opposites attract.
Well, there was the one Apple Pie post I did, but that's really it and it was such a big deal to make that I had to blog about it.

However, starting today I LOVE to Bake!
And I'm up for a Baking Throw-Down!

Because money talks and I hear that Pillsbury will give ME a $1 million grand prize for my fabulous recipe! Plus, one hundred finalists will win a trip tot the finals NEXT April (2010) at the Waldorf-Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek hotel in Florida.

Want to try?
You must beat my original recipe that will taste and look delicious, is easy to prepare, and that families across American will love to eat. There are 4 categories but I plan on winning in all so good luck: Breakast & Brunches, Entertaining, Appetizers, Dinner Made Easy and Sweet Treats.

Entries are accepted online between now and April 20th, 2009 at

Just don't get your hopes up because when this blogger sees $1 million big ones and a free trip to Florida she won't quit until she wins!

Thanks to My Blog Spark for alerting me to the contest.
Sweating in the kitchen,

Congratulations to our winners!

My Blog Spark apparently knows me better than my own family because they recently sent me a beautiful spa basket filled with all kinds of chocolate goodies including Fiber One Chocolate Mocha Chewy Bars.

When I say I LOVE chocolate, I'm talking about the must-have-at-least-once-a-day-keep-a-stash-of-chocolate-chips-in-an-emergency kind of way. My experience with the Fiber One Chocolate Mocha Chewy Bar is that it satisfied not only my 3:00 pm chocolate craving, but it satisfied my hunger long enough for me to get home and make dinner without snacking!

Better yet, Fiber One products like these offer 35% of the recommended daily fiber and are a good source of calcium.

Why Fiber you ask?

Fiber can help you satisfy your appetite and manage your weight. Fiber can also help keep your digestive system on track!
