In our school system second grade is THE year for science. Not only do they switch teachers for this subject, but they do all kids of cool things like raise a caterpillar then release a butterfly. Everyone loves the 'butterfly' project and it's the perfect project to get kids excited about science.
KNOW Magazine knows science for kids
I was approached to review KNOW Magazine for Mom Central and I was excited to keep The Twofer's interest in science going at home. Plus, what kid doesn't love getting their very own magazine subscription? KNOW Magazine has 6 issues per year with no advertising. Children 6-9 will enjoy playing games, doing puzzles, and learning about astronomy, dinosaurs, the human body and more. For me, it will hopefully answer all those questions I get that I have to Google. It's also another fun way to get them to keep reading!

Check out the September/October issue of KNOW Magazine right now to see what you think. Visit http://www.knowmag.ca/shapes/ and read it along with your child. If you like it, an annual subscription is just $24.95. What I love about magazines is that my girls keep reading back issues as much as they enjoy getting a new issue. So, the shelf-life of magazines in my house is actually a lot longer than that of a new book!
I'm curious - when do your kids have a regular science class in school and what cool projects have they done?
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Mad Science and received the products necessary to facilitate my review. In addition, I received a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate. All opinons expressed are my own and this post was neither reviewed nor approved by Mom Central or KNOW Magazine prior to publishing.
