Doing Splits (the banana kind) for Ovarian Cancer & Win $25 Amex Card

There are three parts to this one and all ar exciting so pay attention....

Build Virtual Banana Splits to Fund Ovarian Cancer Research

Kelly Ripa and Electrolux have teamed up for a fun way to donate to a great cause. Visit www.kelly-confidential.com and create your own virtual banana split. For each split created each day, Electrolux will donate $1.00 to the Ovarian Cancer Reasearch Fund!

Why Banana Splits?

For the splits of course! No, not that yoga/gymnastic move that I attempt after one too many margarita's - it's to celebrate the splitting up of the refridgerator and freezer. Elextrolux has full size fridge-only refrigerators and stand alone freezers that can stand next to each other in your kitchen and impress all your friends and the crankiest of mother-in-laws (totally NOT saying mine is cranky, nor does she need to be impressed, but I have friends that complain about theirs).

Can you just imagine having this in your kitchen.....

full size Electrolux refrigerator and freezer

It makes me drool even more than the banana split I just made!

Now Let's Talk About Winning!

Making a virtual banana split is great for the donation but it might leave you wanting something a little sweet, no?

Enter to win the Electrolux refrigerator and freezer combo!

Each day you can make a banana split and you'll be autmatically entered to win the daily prize of $50 for sweet treats and for the grand prize of a set of stand-alone Electrolux refrigerator/freezer!

Enter on TWOFERMOM to win a $25 American Express gift card

Three easy ways to enter. Do one, or do all three for maximum entries! Leave a comment though for each one so I can track. Thanks!

1. Visit http://www.kelly-confidential.com and make a banana split then share with me your recipe in a comment.

2. Post a link to this giveaway on Twitter (include @Twincident) or Facebook and leave a comment with the URL for that tweet or Facebook posting

3. Subscribe to this blog via email (click on the coffee cup in the upper area of my sidebar) and leave a comment like "I subscribe" with your email in the comment (but use "yourname {at} emailservce {dotcom} so crawlers don't pick it up).

The giveaway for the $25 AMEX card ends Monday, 7/26/10 at 11:00pm ET. Giveaway is open to all US & Canada residents 18 and over. Winner will be drawn using Random.org from all valid entries and notified via email and/or Twitter.

Good luck and happy splits! You better come back and tell me if you win the fridge/freezer too. Also, if you can still do 'the splits' without too many margaritas I'd like to know.

Janine

Disclosure: I received a $25 Amex gift card from BSM Media and Electrolux as a thank you for participating in this blog campaign. All opinions expressed here are my own and this post was neither reviewed nor approved prior to publishing.

Review & Giveaway: Subway now serving breakfast! (closed)

We have a winner... Congratulations to jillyrh !

___________________

We are a Subway family.

We take detours off the main road to avoid fast food burger joints and locate a Subway.

We bring Subway to the pool during the summer and we stop at Subway before heading to events held at an arena where a hotdog costs $8.

Subway is affordable, made fresh, offer low-fat options, and tastes great.

Did you know Subway now has eggs?

I received gift cards from Subway to sample their breakfast menu and I have to say I was impressed.

I had the egg & chees on Subway flatbread:

Photobucket

You can see that it was a very good size and definitely filled me up. The egg was real egg plus Subway offers egg whites as an option. Subway breakfast has a number of other menu choices too including ham, steak or bacon, english muffin or flatbread, and adding green peppers and tomato.

Giveaway: Enter to win a $30 Subway gift card to try breakfast!

TwoferMom readers will have a chance to win a $30 Subway gift card. Subway breakfast meals are only about $4 each so you could feed your entire family with the card, or yourself a week of breakfasts!

Each action is worth one entry to win. Please leave a separate comment documenting each entry with a link (to your tweet, Facebook post, etc) whenever possible.

Here's how...

1. Leave a comment telling me which Subway breakfast sandwich you want to try most

2. Become a fan of Subway on Facebook and click on the "Like it Share it" button and post "I hope I win $30 Subway Gift Card at TwoferMom.com" on your wall or to 5 of your friends. (you can do this more than once)

3. Send a tweet on Twitter, "I just entered to win $30 Subway gift card from @subwayfreshbuzz and @twincident on TwoferMom.com!" (you can do this once per day)

4. Subscribe to TwoferMom via email

Contest open to US residents 18 and over and ends Friday, May 14, 2010 at 11:00 PM ET. Winner will be chosen using Random.org from all valid entries and notified via email.

Good luck and definitely bring your morning appetite to Subway!

Janine

Review & Giveaway: Win FREE YoCrunch 100 Calorie pack with Truvia

A while back I reviewed Truvia as an alternative to Spenda and regular sugar...specificaly, in my coffee.

It never occured to me that someone would be smart enough to add Truvia (an all natural sweetener made from the best parts of the stevia plant) to things like yogurt.

I have all but stopped eating yogurt because the non-fat versions all use artificial sweetners that leave a bad taste in my mouth. But Truvia, to me, tastes good.

I was sent samples of the YoCrunch 100 Calorie pack vanilla yogurt with Truvia and with little bits of Oreo cookie crumbles.

Photobucket

And besides the little pill I take with it (Yes, I'm old. Please don't tell the 18 year old Janine what's in store for her. She'll just roll her eyes anyway.) ...I tasted only the yogurt, not the sweetener!

Plus, it was easy to know that it's a good snack because the folks at Breyers have already weighed and measured it and know it's 100 Calories. Easy!

YoCrunch 100 calorie packs come in these flavors:

  • Cheesecake Yogurt with Graham Cookie Pieces
  • Strawberry Yogurt with 100% Natural Low Fat Granola
  • Vanilla Yogurt with Chocolate Chip Cookie Pieces
  • Vanilla Yogurt with Chocolate Crème Cookie Pieces
  • Vanilla Yogurt with Nestle® Buncha CrunchTM Candy Pieces

Now it's YOUR turn to try YoCrunch 100 calorie yogurt for FREE!

I'm giving away 10 coupons (to 10 people) to try a YoCrunch 100 calorie pack for FREE!

And everyone gets 4 entries to win.

1. Leave a comment telling me your favorite yogurt and if you have ever tried Truvia

2. Subscribe to TwoferMom.com via email

3. Tweet a link to this giveaway (leave the URL for the tweet in a comment)

4. Click on the Like It, Share It button below and post it to your wall or email 3 friends (cc scarytwins {at} Yahoo {dot} com)

Be sure to leave your email in the comment form (no one else sees it) so I can contact you if you win. Giveaway open to US residents 18 and over and ends Friday, April 9th at 11:00 pm ET. Winners will be chosen using Random.org and notified via email.

Thanks and good luck!

Janine

Giveaway: Haiti Relief Necklace (and the opportunity to help)

** Winner UPDATE**

The winner of the Haiti Relief Necklace is......Leticia Tech Savvy Mama

Congratulations!!

__________________________________

Let's just start this off with a photo, shall we?

Haiti Relief necklace by Studio Jewel

A good bloggy/twitter friend of mine happens to be an amazing artist and metalsmith. She has a store full of beautiful pieces and each one makes me drool.

But Lisa has a heart as well, and when it speaks to her, she listens. This time it told her to create something that can help those affected in Haiti.

We need to SURROUND those impacted by this disaster with HOPE - thus the significance of the silver circle encompassing the hope disk. It will take our faith, our hope and our love to feed their emotional needs...but it will also take our hands. We need to use WOOD, STONE and METAL, as seen in the individual beads, to rebuild what has been lost - to rebuild lives torn apart. We must LINK together, as represented by the silver chain, as a people united in order to serve others and share our HOPE for a new and better future.

Then she offered to send me one, and have me give one away on my blog! I wore it the other night (photo does NOT do it justice) and got tons of compliments.

How to enter to win:

Because this is a giveaway that is giving back, I'm doing entries a little different. Each option will give you a different number of entries. The more you do, the more entries you get, the better your chances of being randomly selected to win the necklace. Remember to leave a separate comment for each with a lin to a URL so I can track.

40 entries: Purchase a Haiti Relief necklace and leave a comment to Lisa that you found it through TwoferMom. She will then come here and leave a comment on your behalf that will be worth 40 points!

Contest open to US and Canda residents 18 years or older and ends Friday, March 19, 2010 at 11:00 PM ET. All valid entries will be counted and winner will be chosed using Random.org. Winner will be notified via email and/or Twitter and has 48 hours to respond before I choose another winner.

AND....

Lisa is so excited for this giveaway that she's offering ANYONE who enters here AND buys a Haiti Relief necklace the chance to win $100 gift certificate to her store, Studio Jewel! So buy one for a friend and you might win $100 to spend on yourself!

Just a reminder how gorgeous this piece is:
