The Junior League of Northern is gearing up for their 10th Annual Enchanted Forest and I'm giving away tickets!

Held this year at the Reston Sheraton from November 20-21, you'll see 100+ prelit, artificial Christmas trees, which have been decorated by donors with gift certificates, merchandise and whimsical decorations.

In the past there have been trees decorated in different kinds of liquor, a Barbie tree, a "dream Thanksgiving" tree which included gift certificates for a gourmet turkey, all the fixings and two nights of hotel stay for out-of-town guests. YOU can then bid to win one of these trees and all the fixings during a silent auction!

We haven't had a professional family photo taken since the girls were a year and a half old. They cried just about the whole time. I don't even think we got a family photo. We go the girls with mommy, the girls with daddy, and the girls together.  So, we are due.

Real Photographer versus In-store Studio

When the Twofer were little we took them to various photography studios located in department stores or chains that you find in the mall. When they started preschool I stopped taking them to studios because the school photos always seemed to turn out really cute. Plus, I always thought a 'real' photographer would be way too expensive. Guess what? It's not. Not when you consider the frustration we ALWAYS experienced when some teenager couldn't get the camera to work, or my kid to relax.

Spending a little more to use a professional would have been the smart thing to do. So let's go back 4 years and remind THAT Janine to smarten up. Then, let's talk about the giveaway!
