Powermat is the BEST present for the person who has everything

Do you have one person on your list who has everything? The type of person who, if they don't have it, they go out and buy it for themselves the month before Christmas or their birthday leaving you with NO good gift ideas for them? (Special note to my brother, JP - you can stop reading right about now. Go on, click on a different post, check your email, blah blah, blah.)

My brother the gadget guy

My dad used to be this person. With his passing, my brother seems to have assumed the roll. He is always in line to get the newest iGadget. And, whatever gadget he doesn't have, he buys for himself! His little 4-person family alone has 3 iPhones, 2 iPods, and 1 iPod Touch. That's 6 devices...that I know of! I'm guessing there are a few lying around his office collecting dust bunnies.

This is an electronic family for sure.

But what they DON'T have is a way to charge all of their technology!

Powermat A Great Gift that Saves Charging Space

I received the Powermat 2x Portable Wireless charger to review and now I know what I'm getting my brother for Christmas! His family NEEDS this, and I know for sure he doesn't have one yet and has no plans to buy one...score!

Powermat 2X Portable Wireless Charger

More than that, Powermat will save them space and electricity. Powermat can charge multiple devices wirelessly and knows when they are fully charged so it can cut power. Simply place the device with either the appropriate receiver or universal cube attachment onto the Powermat and it starts charging.

For items with a Powermat receiver (sold separately based on your device) you will feel a little 'handshake' to know it's charging. For items using the Powercube (universal cube with tips to fit hundreds of devices including phones, PSP, Nintendo DS, etc) you'll see a light go on. What's great about the Powermat I received is that it has a rechargable battery so you can take it with you and continue to charge even if there is no outlet around!

How's that for a gift for the person who has everything?

I think I nailed it.

Happy shopping! Have you found a great gift for the person who has (or buys themselves) everything?

Disclosure: I received a Powermat 2X charger and two receivers for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own and I really am going to give one of these to my brother so JP, if you are still reading, Merry Christmas! This post was neither reviewed nor approved prior to being published.

If I could participate in a cookie exchange, I'd use Betty Crocker and Gladware

I'm not one for a cookie exchange.

It's not really my choice. I'd love to participate in one if I could.

But I can't.

Because I eat all the cookies before there is time to share!

Safeway and Gladware pack a mean cookie

If I DID have any cookies make it past the cooling rack I would definitely pack them in Gladware. We use Gladware for everything from school lunches to Thanksgiving leftovers. It seals food nicely and the containers stack beautifully for easy storage in my cabinet drawer.

My local Safeway has a huge selection of Gladware and, lucky me, Betty Crocker cookie kits! These cookie pouches are the easiest way to re-make cookies, when you've eaten all the ones you had set aside for the exchange. Just add egg and maybe some flour, mix it up and you're done!

Buy Gladware at Safeway and Get Free Cookies

Now for a limited time (hurry because I think limited means 12/14/10!) if you buy two participating Gladware products at Safeway ( or Dominick´s, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Vons, and Genuardi´s) you'll get a FREE Betty Crocker Cookie Pouch!

You can read more about this offer and find delicious recpies and more at

Happy baking! Be sure to save some for me!

Disclosure: I received a set of Gladware (which I use), a Betty Crocker cookie pouch (seriously the easiest way to make cookies) and a Safeway gift card as a member of My Blog Spark for the purposes of this review. The Meaning of Christmas in with Abed from NBC's "Community"

Have you watched NBC's Thursday night show, "Community" starring Chevy Chase and Joel McHale?

Well, be sure watch it this Thursday for a very merry episode where Abed brings the whole gang on a search for the meaning of Christmas.

But the gang has turned to clay - or maybe some high-tech foam.

Claymation rocks Christmas Tales

Remember the Christmas special that would come on TV every year that was done in all Claymation? I think it was 'Little Drummer Boy'? This episode of "Community" reminded me of the days when I thought that was the coolest, and freakiest way to tell a story. I mean, standard animation wasn't good enough for these folks. Technically the term for this episode of "Community" is Stop Motion Animation....but I like claymation. Like 'pleather' for leather-like-vinyl.

Jeff-in-the-Box BrittaBot and ShirlyBaby

The greatest thing about this episode is the gang (except Abed) turns into different toys - like the Misfit toys, but with their same sense of humor. Chevy Chase as a teddy bear is heeelarious!

image via NBC

The gang is taken on a wild holiday advanture with Abed and a shrink/wizard calling the shots. Eventually Abed does find the meaning of Christmas...and you will too.

"Community" is on Thursday nights at 8:00 pm EST on NBC.

Plus, if you are on twitter there will be a live "Community" viewing party! Just follow @one2onenetwork for details! And you can follow "Community" on Twitter and Joel McHale too.

What's your meaning of Christmas?

Disclosure: I watch "Community" just about every week but this post does count as an entry into a giveaway from One2One Network where I might win a give card or camera. But that's not why I did it. I like the show! In other words, all opinions expressed here are my own and this post was neither approved nor reviewed prior to being published.

Johnson's Baby Oil with Shea & Cocoa Butter Help Fight the Winter Itch

One word: backscratcher

Maybe it's two words but around here it's one and it can mean only one thing: Winter.

You see everyone in my family gets dry, itchy skin during the winter. With the heat blasting and us always forgetting to turn the humidistat on - we just can't keep our skin moist and delicious like in the summer when I slather sun lotion on every hour.

And so we scratch.

We fight over the backscratcher. We start on our backs, but then eventually that scratcher is all over us. You can't just stop at your back!

Until now.

Johnson's Baby Oil now has other good stuff in it!

Johnson & Johnson Johnson's Baby Creamy Oil

I was picked to sample the new Shea & Cocoa Butter products of Johnson's baby oil. The set came with baby oil, baby oil gel, and creamy baby oil. Perfect! Something for everyone!

I love the baby oil - I use it to take off makeup, on my nail cuticles, my heels, and especially after the shower. It not only smells slightly of a tropical island (warming me up) but it really takes away the dry skin itch.

The Twofer love the Johnson & Johnson Johnson's Baby Creamy Oil - they get especially dry on ther legs and the tops of their hands. I mean, to the point where the skin is red and raw. The creamy oil wasn't greasy but  also was gentle enough that it didn't sting the raw red areas of their hands which can often happen with other lotions.

The Mister doens't know it yet but he's going to love the baby oil gel - as someone who cannot stand greasy lotion, especially in summer, my husband will love the dry feeling of the gel. It goes on smooth AND clear so there isn't all that rubbing in.

Have you tried a scented Johnson's Baby Oil product yet? What other way do you use baby oil?
