CD Review: Your Songs from Harry Connick Jr.
Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 08:00AM Mmm – remember when you first heard Harry Connick, Jr.’s silky smooth voice?
He was singing all the old “Frank” songs and made them cool again. Then remember being crushed by the news that he married a Victoria’s Secret model? I digress.
Well Harry is back with a new album called Your Songs where he performs some of the classics from some of the greatest musicians like Frank’s “All The Way”, Billy Joel’s “Just the Way You Are”, and even Elton John’s “Your Song”.

Thanks to One2One Network I had the chance to listen to the album before it’s release and I have to say I enjoyed it – it was good car music…I could sing to it, and it was relaxing.
As with any review I have listed my Pros and Cons for Your Songs by Harry Connick Jr.
Pros
- Harry
- his voice
- the unique spin he adds to each song
- and the fact that I know most of these songs and can sing along
Cons
- The selection of songs are in general all ‘slow’ songs and I was left wanting a few more upbeat tunes to balance it out.
- My husband didn’t like it, but since I’m not in the business of sharing my Harry moment with his I’m not sure this will affect how or when I listen to this CD.
