I was approached by ALA to discover a family adventure in our local area as a way to celebrate family adventures! I was excited as we have so much to do around here including bike paths, rafting, lots of free museums, boating, zip lines, and we are close to the beach. So what did I choose?

 

Yes, I chose a Pool!

Now I know what you are thinking - that it's not really an adventure. But let me tell you something. This is not just ANY OLD POOL. Also, this was not just ANY OLD SUMMER day.

It was 100 and a heat index of 115 degrees that day.

This pool has all kinds of cool activities that involve more than swimming...

Whoa! Things have gotten a little slow around here!

It's been so long since I posted I think I have actual cobwebs on my blog!

The spam commenters are back in full force too. That's nothing you'll see but I see it on the back end in old posts and whatnot.

So where have I been?

Well, the end of the school year is always crazy with butterfly release parties and all that good stuff.

And Swim Team always keeps us busy from before school lets out when practice is every week night.

Then we went on vacation to the Jersey Shore like we did last year. (Remember the Bumpit photos?)

Then I played catch up with work...

But now I'm back, and ready to roll.

I have a few new things I'll announce in the coming weeks.

And a few headaches I'm sure to experience.

I love those commercials and not just because we did our own Disney surprise video a few years ago for the Twofer's 6th birthday.

I love the commercials because it is real.

Remember way back when I was a Disney skeptic. That first trip changed everything.

We are getting ready to head back to Disney for this year's Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. The conference last year blew me away. Our first trip took us only to Magic Kingdown. I had no idea how much our entire family would love the other parks like Epcot and Hollywood Studios!

So, in honor of our 3rd trip in 3 years (we are truly blessed) I decided to share a favorite Disney memory with the world!

Fashion Friday: Shopping for Mexico

Things I simply MUST HAVE for a weekend in Mexico

My college girlfriends and I are heading off to Puerta Vallarta next week for a girls getaway to celebrate all of us turning 40 this year. I'm soooo glad to have had this trip planned after I spent my 40th birthday in the dark.

Today (tonight by the time I finish this post) I want to shop for a few things to take on my trip.

Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses

Ray-Ban Wayfarers are back in my friends! And, since "Risky Business" is one of my all-time faves and still has a good bit of MoJo (even if the star has since lost his) I simply must have some.

I may opt for the tortoise shell color rather than classic black but that's simply because I look better in brown tones.

Fabulous SPF 50 Sunhat

I know what you are thinking... 'fabulous' and 'SPF 50' simply cannot be used in the same sentence. Right? WRONG! Have you checked out Coolibar yet? I bought girls great hats for the beach and pool from Coolibar a few years ago and they were great.

This is the one I'm eyeing for me:

Travel-worthy, shapable, and UPF 50+, this hat is chic and will protect my scalp, face and neck from the Mexico sun.

Bright-colored Sundress

After spending the past 4 months buried in my brown, puffy down coat I need some color!!!

Thankfully Fresh Produce sent me a beautiful cafe wrap dress in the Fall to review. This will be the first time I get to wear it and I am so excited!

 

This one is in 'sunrise' but mine is the bright 'Sangria' color. The fact that I chose a color that shares the name of a terrific vacation drink is pure coincidence!

Summertime Clutch

I love to clutch and this bright orange Julie Apple Flip It Convertible Clutch is going to look great tucked under my arm at the pool in Mexico and at the pool this summer back home. Plus, with the right outfit, it can convert easily to an casual evening bag with a sundress or jeans.

Fresh Produce Cafe Wrap dress perfect for vacationSuch a perfect dress! The style is very flattering and the fabric is lightweight and doesn't seem to wrinkle which is great for travel. They sent me one in the sangria (pink) color and I love love love. I can't wait to wear it out shopping or to dinner. It would make an elegant cover-up for the beach, no?  I'm going to end my sentences now with 'no?' because it's very international sounding...no?

The Crystal Cove Cardigan is lighweight, however, they sent me one in black so I will be wearing it ALL winter long! Seriously - you will have to force me out of this cardigan. It too is very flattering...no?... (I will upload photos of me in both as soon as I can but I wanted to get this post and giveaway up asap) with fitted arms but loose around the edges and the ruffle to give it that extra special 'ooh cute!' look. It will look great with jeans and a t-shirt or with a work skirt, pants, and a blouse.
