Mom going away can be hard...for mom
I've just returned from the Type-A Mom Conference in Asheville, NC.
It was a long weekend that started at 6:00am Thursday and ended Sunday night at 6:00pm when I finally returned.
That is a long time for me to be away. I missed my family. I missed my bed. I couldn't tell which twin I was talking to on the phone because they sound so different from real life, and yet so similar to each other over the phone...only a twin mom will get that.
Mom coming home can be harder
It's hard to come home for several reasons. I'm tired myself, and yet feel the need to 'jump' not ease back into my role as mom, wife, and cat-feeder (no one else seems to care if the cats eat or not).
It's also hard because I've been off my computer the entire day and have LOTS of ideas I picked up at the conference that I want to implement...immediately.
What makes it all worth it for mom to go away
Two smiling faces and four arms pulling me into the house to show me how they cleaned up, what they worked on over the weekend, and just to get some good cuddles.
What makes it all worth it is one thing....it gave me the opportunity to miss them.
And now I feel more connected to them. More connected because I had that time away.
Strange how that works.
