Fashionista Friday - handbags make the perfect Mother's Day gift

You simply can't go wrong with a handbag for your mom. Here's why:

1. You don't have to sweat it out trying to figure out her size or take the chance you'll insult her but suggesting she wears a size larger (or smaller).

2. You can go a little crazy and take a chance one a bright color, funky fabric, etc because it's an accessory and not something that can't be substituted.

3. You can always find something affordable that doesn't look affordable if you know what I mean. This will get your more mom brownie points for half the price.

Here are a few I'm eyeing up and yes they are all affiliate links to go ahead...click and shop and maybe just maybe I can get one of these for myself...you know, since I work so hard at keeping you enteretained and all.

The Beach Tote

The white bag I've never had

The "OMG everyone but me has a mustard yellow handbag" option

And, The Clutch

(and what a clutch this is!)

Which one do you want?

Oh yes, and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms...including my own, who will not be getting a handbag for Mother's Day but rather a lovely Hallmark card that might have a photo of a handbag.

Fashionista Friday - Wedding Attire for Seven-Year Olds

The Twofer went to their first wedding ever last week.

The wedding itself was small and intimate. It was a Thursday evening with just close friends and family of the bride and groom. Our girls and their cousins from my husband's side, were the only kids in attendance.

But, for the Twofer....this was a VERY BIG TO-DO!

For months now they have been talking about what they will wear. I convinced they they did not have to rush out and buy a new dress (that they might not ever have the occasion to wear again) for this event...as special as it is. Mommy isn't going to buy a new dress afterall.

I sorted through their closet and came up with black skirts we had purchased for a very fancy Breakfast with Santa at a friend's "club". We aren't "club" folk but I've been to enough to know a standard wool skirt and tights wasn't going to cut it for that crew. Black you say? For a Spring wedding?

Why yes!

We brightened it up with a pink tank top and a cream colored shrug sweater and bright colored headbands...and they were good to go.  Infact, here's a photo of all the kids and the lovely bride, Lori.

The best part...remember those shoes from last week?

They got to wear them!

Late, as usual but I Love me some Ultimate Blog Party!

I'm a fan of Janice and Susan for many reasons not the least of which is that I have twins myself, and I hope to pick their brains for help as mine are on the edge of tweendom.

But that's another blog post.

This here's all about meeting some new folks so if you're here for...

Then WELCOME!

If you're no, go away.

Kidding! Read on and you might learn something new about me.

Here are 3 things abou moi:

1. My name is Janine and I sign my posts that way but most people know me as Twincident which is my twitter name.

2. I have twin girls, The Twofer, who will be 7 in May

My Twins with the Disney twins, Chip and Dale

3. I many neuroses including those relating to public toilets, dealing with girl drama, and accpeting the fact that my kids with either be in a 12-step program or therapy when they get older.

And here are 3 things you might want to check out on my blog:

1. Fashionista Fridays - this is about all things fashionable to a little girl, and sometime for grown-up girls (like me). I sometimes forget to do a link but if you ever write about fashion on Fridays let me know if a comment and I'll add a linky next week and ping you to link up!

2. I often do Reviews and Giveaways because I have always been mouthy when it comes to telling my friends about products I like and, well, it brings me traffic. Look, I'm not the most fabulous writer, I know that, but this blog really started as an easier way to share the latest "twincident" with my friends and family instead of the mile-long email method I had been using. Also, I have several other jobs like Buzz Cooperative (which you should check out if you are a blogger).

3. I am participating in the Lose the Laptop campaign and am totally willing to BUY VOTES! OK, I'm not sure how I would do that but if you vote for me (you have to register but I hear it's easy peasy), let me know here in a comment and I will at least come by your blog and comment and thank you and follow you on twitter and be your best friend and invite you to my birthday party...

That's it. Nice to meet you! Of course, you didn't get a word in edge-wise but I'm going to shut up now and go do some blog hopping.

Fashionista Friday - Twinkle Toes are Not Just for Dancing

My Mom was in town visiting and a tradition she has started is taking the Twofer shoe shopping.

Whenever they need new sneakers, Grandma loves to go

and

better yet

pay!

This year El ran right up to the table with all the blingity bling on it. The table had a sign on it that said Twinkle Toes which makes you think of dance shoes, right?

Wrong.

This table was covered with sparkly sneakers.

And she had her heart set on a certain pair that are high-tops.

And a certain color.

Bad hair day...but fabulous shoes!

And her enthusiasm alone convinced her twin sister that she MUST have the same pair.

I argued they aren't practical for sneakers, it's the middle of winter, they will grow out of them before Spring when they can really wear them and enjoy them....

And Grandma said, "Oh let them get them! What do you care? I'm paying for them."

purple high top sneakers with bling

And all was good.
