Fashion Friday: An Old Fashion Soul

I haven't done a Fashion Friday post in, well, probably years.

But this image struck me.

This girl has always been interested in fashion.

When she was not yet two she would wake up from her nap, change her pull-up, put on tights, the right way, and a skirt, and crawl back into bed.

This is a girl that literally GASPS when we walk through the shoe department at Nordstrom or, most recently, Macy's.

She doesn't wear skirts or dresses ALL THE TIME anymore, but she still appreciates a classic look and fits in some dress-up time now and then.

I'm not sure how I ended up with this dress, or the long gloves, but she found them and put them together...perfectly.

Fashion Friday - Feathered Headbands

The Girls found these during our latest "shop-til-you-drop" excursion with my mom. In the words of Rachel Zoe

MAY- JOR!

I found these feather headbands on Amazon:

Love the colors, the elegance and the fact that they are affordable!

Fashion Friday Disney Handbags

I haven't done a Fashion Friday post in a few weeks but was finally feeling inspired after we enjoyed the hospitality of Disney during the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration.

During the weekend I was able to enjoy using my Dooney and Bourke Mickey purse for the first time ever!

I won the purse during another Disney event last year called Dinner with Disney. I have not been brave enough to break it out away from the parks. After using it for a few days though, I think it really does go with everything and brings a little Disney magic to any outfit!

Want to shop for your own Disney purse?

You can go with the ever stylish Dooney & Bourke handbags like this Disney Dooney & Bourke Sketch Large Handbag

Or go with something a little simpler like the Harveys Convertible Minnie Mouse Tote by Disney Couture

If you are working with a smaller budget, fear not! I found a few cute things that are perfect Disney accessories:

Nylon Mickey Mouse totes ($28.95)

and

the Disney Dooney & Bourke Minnie Mouse Pouchette $79.95

Or the Mickey Mouse Big Face Canvas Tote & Wallet Set

What bag would you buy for your next Disney trip?

Janine

Disclosure: I did receive the one handbag at no charge as part of the Dinner with Disney event. I also have paid for my fair share of Disney purses - mostly the ones with Airel and other princesses. I also received discounted room, park tickets, and gift bag of goodies while on the Disney Social Media Moms celebration but a purse was not one of the items. Also, some links are affiliate links.

Fashion Friday: Shopping for Mexico

Things I simply MUST HAVE for a weekend in Mexico

My college girlfriends and I are heading off to Puerta Vallarta next week for a girls getaway to celebrate all of us turning 40 this year. I'm soooo glad to have had this trip planned after I spent my 40th birthday in the dark.

Today (tonight by the time I finish this post) I want to shop for a few things to take on my trip.

Ray-Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses

Ray-Ban Wayfarers are back in my friends! And, since "Risky Business" is one of my all-time faves and still has a good bit of MoJo (even if the star has since lost his) I simply must have some.

I may opt for the tortoise shell color rather than classic black but that's simply because I look better in brown tones.

Fabulous SPF 50 Sunhat

I know what you are thinking... 'fabulous' and 'SPF 50' simply cannot be used in the same sentence. Right? WRONG! Have you checked out Coolibar yet? I bought girls great hats for the beach and pool from Coolibar a few years ago and they were great.

This is the one I'm eyeing for me:

Travel-worthy, shapable, and UPF 50+, this hat is chic and will protect my scalp, face and neck from the Mexico sun.

Bright-colored Sundress

After spending the past 4 months buried in my brown, puffy down coat I need some color!!!

Thankfully Fresh Produce sent me a beautiful cafe wrap dress in the Fall to review. This will be the first time I get to wear it and I am so excited!

This one is in 'sunrise' but mine is the bright 'Sangria' color. The fact that I chose a color that shares the name of a terrific vacation drink is pure coincidence!

Summertime Clutch

I love to clutch and this bright orange Julie Apple Flip It Convertible Clutch is going to look great tucked under my arm at the pool in Mexico and at the pool this summer back home. Plus, with the right outfit, it can convert easily to an casual evening bag with a sundress or jeans.

What else do you think I need to buy?

Fashion Friday the iPhone edition

I'm probably the last social media savvy person on earth to NOT yet have a smart phone.

Until now..

I pre-ordered an iPhone on Verizon!!!

Thank the Good Lord above that Verizon is finally allowed to sell iPhones. I love my Verizon service. I also have a few friends who love to make fun of me for my non-smart phone. My current phone might not be considered "smart" but at least it doesn't drop calls....EVER!

With all the excitement of ordering a new phone I completely forgot about

Fashionable iPhone Accessories

And thank you Apple for all the choices like..

the Kate Spade new york Agenda

and

the Michael Kors wallet clutch

and

the Agent18 Slim Shield

and

the Cole Haan Small Leather zip wallet (in red of course!)

But then I found THIS

Kate Spade new york Janine Notebook Carrying Case

Did you see that? JANINE!

I was the kid to NEVER had the personalized mug, keychain, pencils, etc. I would scour through racks and racks and never, not once, did I ever come across anything with "Janine" on it. That alone justifies the $400 price tag for this right? Plus, it would hold my MacBook, my iPad, and now my new iPhone, and it would hold it all fashionably.

What do you think?
