Moxie Mona hits the DC 'Burbs - horse poop and all
Friday, September 25, 2009 at 03:00AM
Some blog friends of mine have started a new company (it's the cool, hip thing to do these days) called Moxie Media. To celebrate, I had the opportunity to take their mascot, Moxie Mona, around the burbs of DC so she can see we're not all politics.
First we grabbed our towels and caught some rays at the pool because while Mona was looking snazzy in her superhero outfit, she needed a little color to cut back on the glare.

Then, we had Mona with us as we braved the big outdoors....of our backyard. We're not used to roughing it here.

Mona didn't flinch when I took her on my commute around the deathtrap Capital Beltway, also named The Inner and Outer loop to confuse tourists. Legend has it there's a family from Upstate New York that has been driving the loop going on 5 years.

Finally, Mona got to see first-hand how DC area folk love their horses. From the racetracks at Laurel and Pimlico (where the Preakness is run) to the hunt races in Potomac, MD and Middleburg, VA, Mona got to smell what really keeps DC politics moving...large piles of money poop.

We had a great visit with Mona and wish all the Moxie Girls good luck in their new adventure

She even got to camp? :)
Your girls are so darn cute! And thank you for having Mona lay out in the sun- here legs are whiter than my hubby's ;)
I'm glad someone helped that girl get a tan. She was looking rather pasty!
Thanks for helping Mona catch some rays and educating her on all that MD has to offer. Really, no Maryland visit is complete without a trip around the beltway!
The Beltway is a total deathtrap!!! And your girls are adorable. I need to look into getting my kids riding too! Hope you're hazing a blast in Ashville.
What a lucky girl! Mona to go riding with those beautiful horses and what a lovely blog you have. Come stop by today to see Mona in San Francisco sweetie!
Uh, that inner/outer loop thing already has me confused, I don't think I'd trust myself to drive in Maryland! And I'm glad you didn't let Mona drive either!
The business loans suppose to be essential for guys, which are willing to start their company. By the way, it's not very hard to get a financial loan.
