Another milestone: saying goodbye to the first 'big' Christmas present

Let me first start by saying that I'm NOT a neat-freak. If anything, I have a tendancy to be a pack-rat.

Second, we actually downsized from a, I'll call it what it was....a McMansion, when we moved into our current house and we redid just about every room with the profits from the sale of our Big Mac house.

The problem is that we took away just about every inch of unfinished space in this house. NOT great for storage. We have lots of shelving and closet storage, but no place to store big things.

Therefore, I have to purge (toys, clothes, shoes, kitchen items, and just about anything that isn't strapped down or too heavy for me to lift) two or three times a year.

Most recently I went on a CraigsList selling spree.

The Step 2 play kitchen was the latest victim.

Farewell play kitchenThis kitchen was our first BIG Christmas gift.

The first one we stayed up WAAAAY too late Christmas Eve swearing over as we assembled it. The first one I couldn't wait for the Twofer to wake up to. The first Christmas present that I was more excited to give than to receive.

And it is the first Christmas present to give back.

$80 to be exact.

Don't let the door slam you on the ass as you leave.

Hello bay window!Cold? Harsh? Please, you and I know that when it comes down to's just stuff.

Now, how much you think can I get for their hand-made quilts?

Hey, what are my kids going to play with now when they visit??? Oh yeah, the five million other toys you have down in the basement!

For the record, I mentioned your kids when Janine talked about selling this but it fell on deaf ears.
