From bugs to princesses and back to bugs

This Halloween we've come full-circle.

When the girls were 2 they dresses up as Lady Bugs.

For me this was a very practical costume. It was a jacket, so it was warm AND it came with warm fuzzy pants...both items that could be worn all winter long. Which they did much to the delight of the old folks hanging out at the library that year. They loved seeing two little ladybugs toddling around.

Then we moved on to the Princess phase.

This lasted a few years thanks to a big box of princess dress-up from Costco and then hand-made princess dresses they received from their aunt one year. Yes, you read that right...hand made.

Last year I thought we were finally onto REAL costume with the witch and Dorothy.

But I thought wrong.

We are back to being bugs.

Not quite as innocent, but I supposed it's better than pop stars.

What are your kids wearing? Have they come full circle in their costume choice?
