Disney on Ice surprised us all
Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 04:23PM Last night we saw the Celebrations Disney on Ice show at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA.
The Twofer have a new appreciation for Disney since their birthday. Plus, we were invited by Mom Central to attend for free as a Feld Family Activator in exchange for helping to spread the word about the 4 tickets for $44 promotion (tip: use code MOM at checkout through Ticketmaster).
We were pleasantly surprised in so many ways, including the fact that we hit hardly any traffic at all on a rainy Friday night!

Here's what else we liked about Disney on Ice:
The range of characters and music. Not just Disney songs (which we all know) but some contemporary music as well.
The skating....lifts, twirrls, flips, and more. I don't the The Twofer have seen anything like it...except on Dancing with the Stars, and that doesn't have the slick, sparkling ice.
The theatrics - from set design, to smoke and mini explosions the whole show kept even the parents entertained.
The length - I think it was just about an hour and a half if not a little less which was perfect. Sometimes these kid-friendly shows can seem way too long for little kids. Especially since this didn't start until 7:30pm.
Here's what we weren't thrilled about:
$7.00 box of popcorn
Those twirly toys that light up (whatever, call me a Scrooge)
The lady in the row behind us snapping off photos of her kids that were behind me so the flash kept blinding me from the side every 10 minutes.
You can still take advantage of the 4 for $44 promotion code for the rest of the DC (Fairfax) and Baltimore shows!
Have you ever been to Disney on Ice? Is it always this good or did I hit it on a good year? Leave me a comment with your experience.
Wearing my mouse ears,
Janine
